via Mayfly Records: “Hey everybody, I’m asking for your help in supporting one of the best diy venues in the country, The Dial in Southern California. They are being forced to get insurance before the landlord allows them to book any more shows. They are about $700 short of their goal. We will donate 50% of all proceeds from our bandcamp page this week. We have everything set really cheap. With as little as $1 you can help an independent record label and independent music venue keep underground music flowing! Thank you in advance!”

Seriously shitty news. Best of luck goes out to Mark on finding a new spot. ”Unit B’s lease has been terminated. We are not going to be having any more shows in this location, effective today. There are a lot of things that must be rescheduled and moved to new locations, most importantly OC Crustock next weekend.
We are going to begin looking for a new location for a future version of Unit B, and this Facebook page will continue to be a source for updates for this community.I am containing my emotions for the sake of efficiency: there are many things to do. I hope to discuss everything personally with many of you over the next few weeks, and I hope to be back with a legit spot at some point soon.I’m sure I’ll be on the phone a lot the next few days. I’ll call you back when I can.Sadly, but with optimism for the future,Mark”

I know I’ve had a couple friends ask about donating $100+ to the gofundme campaign, so I figured I would make a post regarding it. We added a $100 donation option to the GFM page. Upon donating you will receive a lifetime membership to any/all Dial event, that means you get into every event for 100% free F-O-R-E-V-E-R. You will also receive a rad Dial shirt! We have also added a $200 donation option to the campaign. Upon donating you will receive a lifetime membership to any/all Dial event, that means you get into every event for free FOR LYFE. You will also be added to a list to receive any and all future Not Punk Records release. (Trust us, we’re busy over there) Not tryna take all your money, just figured everyone would appreciate this gift for their troubles!http://www.gofundme.com/thedialcollective

NON-PROFIT ART COLLECTIVE IN NEED!

As some of you may or may not know, I help run a nonprofit art collective in Southern California called The Dial. We are currently in a situation where we have to move EVERY show we have scheduled for the month of June due to the fact we have been threatened with being shut down since we don’t have any insurance. We are currently hosting a gofundme campaign to help with the costs needed to get insurance so we can continue as an all ages space for our community. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask below. If you’re interested in donating, please visithttp://www.gofundme.com/thedialcollective

Please share this link around, anything helps.

Since I know a lot of you folks are SoCal based, please follow my festival Gnarmageddon Fest. 2013 is our third year of production and my (Wayne’s) first year of involvement. Excited to be working with Jason and even more excited with the lineup we currently are sitting on. Fest will take place this Fall.

Last night started a new chapter for a lot of us. The first DIT regional meeting took play last night at The Dial. Representatives from most of Southern California’s DIY spaces such as The Dial,The L.A. Fort, J.U.I.C.E, Bridgetown DIY, Ché Café Collective,Almost Holden Collective, and more got together to discuss future collaborations between one another. It is amazing seeing so many individuals who share the same interests as one another get together for the sole purpose of wanting to help each other grow. Do It Together.

Full Of Hell x TBFH Session

So we ran into a plethora of issues yesterday during the Full of Hell session recording. We only had a chance to get 5-7 (not sure on the exact number) songs recorded before they blew our breaker. Apparently 2 bass cabs, 2 guitar cabs, full noise equipment, and a PA running at the same time pumps a lot of power out, WHO KNEW!

We might have to can the idea of doing a cassette release for this since it will be around 10 minutes worth of music, but if the band and Not Punk Records are still fine with what was recorded we’ll release it through Youtube/Bandcamp/Download. Unless everyone really wants cassettes for it, then we can dub the same material on the A & B side.
